BRYAN MILLARD - INDUCTEE #172

hall of fame fast fact:

In high school, Bryan excelled not only in football, but his 63 feet throw in the shot put is one of the furthest marks in Panhandle history.

Bryan Millard

Bryan Millard is one of the top football players in the Texas Panhandle ever to put a pair of shoulder pads on. From Dumas in the late 1970s, to the University of Texas, to 10 years in the upstart USFL and NFL, Millard, at 6-5 and 290 pounds, was an exceptional offensive lineman at every level.

Highly recruited, he went to Texas where he was a two-year starter and All-Southwest Conference in 1982.

In 1983, Millard was selected in the 12th and final round of the NFL draft, but opted to play for the New Jersey Generals of the USFL for two years. He then signed with the Seattle Seahawks where he was a fixture as a guard on the offensive line for eight years.

Remarkably durable, Millard once played 2,646 consecutive downs over 42 games. Twice, he was named a Pro Bowl alternate, and in 1997, Seattle fans voted him the greatest all-time
 Seahawk lineman.

Millard retired before the 1993 season.
