Protect 6 Rules + Details
DEADLINE: 04/18
Complete your online coaches registration, which includes a section where you can list your protected players.
- Make sure you have the spelling correct with the first and last name, like it is listed on their birth certificate.
- If you do not know your protected players at the time of registration or if they have changed, email your protected players before the evaluations to softball@kidsinc.org.
- Make sure they are committed to your team before putting them on the protected list. Make sure ALL your protected players get registered by their parents by the registration deadline.
- Players will not be allowed on a coach’s protected players list unless they are registered online.
If just protecting your child, you still need to complete this process so we don’t overlook any coaches kids when putting the draft together.
Draft Format
Coaches will draw a number and select players in snake order 1-6, 6-1, etc until their roster is full. Coaches will pick their protected players as their top (up to 6) draft picks. If a coach does not have any protected players or less than 6, they can pick from the roster in their team’s draft order. Coaches will be able to pick any player registered in their team’s draft order.
THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE PLAYERS WHO DID NOT ATTEND THE EVALUATION. Players who do not attend the evaluation will be placed on teams in the draft order to help prevent coaches from picking players they know are more talented that others don’t know.

ALL STARS
Coaches will nominate kids from their own teams.
All division coaches will rank, vote, and select their division All-Star team. All-Star selections will receive an invitation email to participate in the All-Star tournament and purchase their All-Star jersey.
The coach of the winning team in each division will be selected as the coach to represent Amarillo in the USSSA All-Star Tournament.
If there are more than 5 teams in a division, the coach of the first- and second-place winners in each division will represent Amarillo.
